Work
-
2024.06 - Present Machine Learning and Physics Research Intern
National Institute of Standards and Technology
Worked under Dr. William Ratcliff on machine learning methods to predict the space group(and extinction group) of crystal structures based solely on their XRD Patterns
- Large Scale training and parameter optimization of ResNet-18 models for using various types of synthetically created patterns to investigate scaling behavior, effects of label distribution, and performance on real world data
- Developed several data generation methods to create synthetic data from different types of distributions due to lack of labeled XRD patterns
- Partipated in Summer High School Internship Program(SHIP) in summer of 2024 and the paid CORE program in summer of 2025
-
2024.01 - 2024.06 Machine Learning Research and Engineer Intern
Khanjur R%D
R%D company that focuses on the development of Shape Memory Alloys(SMAs). Analyzed effects of various machine learning algorithms on predicting martenistic transfomration tempearture of SMAs given company data
- Wrote internal analysis paper on how well certain regression machine learning algorithms(Polynomial, L2 Regularization, Support Vector Machines) for predicting martenistic transformation temperatures of SMAs
- Did Data analysis and cleaning for company lab results
- Volunteered in company outreach initiatives to local schools by making SMA education kits for 4th graders
